The Long Vigil
The Wychwood is a dense forest of oaks, rowan, and maple trees. The forest is a wild place where great oak trees dominate the landscape. Scattered across the forest are ancient sites of the first gods of men and ancient faerie circles. The forest is alive with sound except when the dead are near. Scouts report that many of the ancient sites have taken on a foul atmosphere since the dead rose.
Elven tribes stalk the wood raiding farms and lumber camps claiming the people of Sarum are in their territory. Some of the tribes avoid violence turning to thieving or peddling hedge magic, while others respond ferociously to incursions into their territory. Knowing which tribes are dangerous can mean the difference between friendly trade and a violent confrontation. Illidar lies at the heart of the Wychwood and it is a holy grove where the bellicose tribes gather each season to share information and trade.
The ruins of Honeywall are still unexplored as the wood elves don't take kindly to invaders, and the town had always been seen as a human incursion into their territory. Before the fall, the city was known for it's grand aviary and it's annual harvest festival honoring the Sower and his blessings. Many would come far and wide to cast their eyes upon the blessed relic, The Sower's Right Hand.
